Guru Amar Das was the third Guru of Sikhism and one of the most respected spiritual leaders in Sikh history. He became the Sikh Guru at the age of 73 after serving Guru Angad Dev with deep devotion.

Guru Amar Das Ji developed Goindwal Sahib as an important Sikh pilgrimage center. He built the famous Baoli Sahib, a sacred stepwell with 84 steps. Sikh devotees believe that reciting Japji Sahib while descending the steps brings spiritual blessings. As per bhaktibharat Guru Amar Das Ji organized Sikh preaching through the Manji system, appointing both men and women to spread Sikh teachings across regions.
