❀ He represents truth, austerity (tapas), and wisdom.
❀ His lineage, called the Atreya tradition, contributed significantly to Vedic knowledge and Ayurveda.

Rishi Atri known as Brahmarishi (highest class of sages). He was the Manas Putra of Brahma. His wife Devi Anasuya, known for her unmatched purity and devotion. There is a temple of Sati Anusuyain Chitrakoot.
