Mythology of Holi related to Shivji and Kamdev (शिवजी और कामदेव से जुड़ी होली की पौराणिक कथा)

If the festival of Shivratri does not come, then the occasion of Holi does not come. According to the scriptures, the story of Holi is related to four incidents. First Holika and devotee Prahlad, second Kamdev and Shiva, third king Prithu and demon Dhundhi and fourth Shri Krishna and Putna.
Let's know the mythological story of Kamdev and Shivji.
When Mother Sati is burnt to ashes in the sacrifice of her father Daksha, then Lord Shiva indulges in severe penance at the confluence of river Ganga and Tamsa. During this two incidents happen, first a demon named Tarakasur asks Brahma for the boon of immortality by doing penance, then Brahmaji says that it is not possible, if he asks for something else then he asks for the boon that only Shiva Give such a boon that only the son can kill him. Tarakasura knew that Sati had become ashes and Shivaji was engrossed in penance which would remain engrossed for thousands of years. In such a situation, there will be no son of Shiva, then who will kill me? By getting this boon, he creates terror on all the three worlds and becomes the ruler of heaven.

The second incident is that during this time Mata Sati indulges in the penance of Lord Shiva to get back the place of Himavan and Mandevi in her second birth as Parvati.
❀ When the deities came to know about this, they all thought together who would break Lord Shiva's penance. Everyone goes to Mother Parvati and requests. Mother is not ready for this. In such a situation, on the recommendation of all the gods, Kamdev and Goddess Rati take the risk of breaking the penance of Shivaji.
❀ In the month of Phalguna, Kamadeva and Rati dance and sing in front of Shiva and then Kamadeva hides behind a mango tree and shoots his flower arrows one by one at Shiva. Finally, an arrow hits his heart, which breaks Shiva's penance. As soon as the penance is dissolved, he sees Kamadeva hiding behind the mango tree, then in anger, he burns Kamadeva to ashes with his third eye.
❀ Seeing this, all the deities including Goddess Rati become sad. Seeing her husband's ashes, Goddess Rati starts mourning and says that it was not my husband's fault. Bring my husband back to life.
❀ When Lord Shiva learns that Kamadeva was acting according to the plan made by the gods for the welfare of the world, his anger subsides. Then they reveal the soul of Goddess Rati's husband Kamadeva from the ashes and then Shiva promises Goddess Rati that in Dwapara Yuga when Lord Vishnu will be born as Krishna in Yadukul, your husband will be born as his son. , whose name will be Pradyumna. In that time you will meet your husband again after killing Sambharasur.
❀ All the gods are pleased with this boon. Shivji also gives consent to marry Parvati. Hearing this, all the gods and goddesses are happy and shower flowers and colors and celebrate the next day.

Dhulandi
According to religious belief, Holika Dahan is done on the day of Holi and color is played in Dhulandi on the second day. Playing colors on Dhulandi is started by applying colors to the Gods and Goddesses. For this, all the gods and goddesses have a favorite color and by offering things of that color to them, auspiciousness is achieved, their grace is received, prosperity comes in life, splendor comes and the house is filled with wealth.
